Quickstart: your first project

This guide walks through creating a project, generating a config file, and sending your first event.

Create a project

This creates a publicsurface.yaml file in the current directory with a generated project id and a default ingest region.

Send your first event

publicsurface ingest send --source demo --message "hello publicsurface"

publicsurface ingest send --source demo --message "hello publicsurface"

publicsurface ingest send --source demo --message "hello publicsurface"

Events typically appear in the dashboard within a few seconds of being sent.

Demo events are automatically deleted after 24 hours and do not count against your ingest quota.
